On the northern edge of the city of Nijmegen lies Hof van Holland, overlooking the river Waal.
There social housing is planned to be built. The 70 homes in total are grouped in one compact building.
The apartments are entered through open-air loggias, full of light coming from the opening in the facade and a vertical void, visually connecting the upper and lower levels.
By slightly shifting the apartments, private terraces and winter loggias are created, and a curved shape of the building embracing the forest garden in front.
By making the building partially float above the ground, the garden extends under the building and beyond.
